12 month internship (DTS already completed):
Training involves both teaching sessions with primarily practical ministry opportunities. Teaching focuses on developing you and your relationship with God and will include such topics as Leadership, Evangelism, and Communication. Ministry opportunities will include: Street outreach with the Coffee Van, Primary School and High School Religious Education Programs, Park Outreach, Beach Sports Outreach, Feeding Programs, and much more.
NOTE: At present the Internship is in the process of being accredited with the Australian Government, so we will be unable to issue Certificates until the accreditation process is complete. We expect this to be completed by March 2010, but it is quite possible that the process may take longer then this.
12 Month Internship (including DTS): The 12 month Internship including DTS is made up of a 6 month DTS and a 6 month Internship.
3 Month Internship: The 3 month Internship is basically one quarter of the 12 month Internship. Depending on which intake you come in on will define what ministry opportunities and training you will be presented with.
6 Month Internship (DTS already completed): The 6 month Internship is basically 2 quarters of the 12 month Internship. Depending on which intake you come in on will define what ministry opportunities and training you will be presented with. You need to have already completed a DTS in order to apply for this Internship.
What is a DTS?: In the first 12-14 weeks, you will experience God through eye-opening lectures on topics like Forgiveness, Hearing God’s Voice, and Recognizing Jesus as Lord, Relationships and Evangelism, given by experienced Bible teachers from around the world. Besides these life changing lectures, you will also be involved in intercession and prayer for the nations, worship, morning devotions, small group gatherings, individual mentoring, work duties, sports/exercise, personal study times, and community outreaches, with a bit of free time on the weekends. Through this intensive few weeks you will find yourself knowing God in a far deeper way than you ever imagined!
After this you will go on an 8-12 week outreach experience that will completely challenge your worldview! You will learn how to use your specific talents and God-given gifts to present the gospel in new and exciting ways. Just a few examples of these are a free coffee ministry, door-to-door visits, drama, music, church work, working with children or the elderly, literature distribution, crusade style open air church services, sporting events, mercy ministries, building and much, much more! The ways that God can be shared is limitless! You will get a glimpse of missions and get a feel of the heart of it by having the opportunity to experience God working through you to reach people that only He can reach.
